Laser beams are widely used in health institutions and require proper protection to operator and patient. International standards provide counseling on how to exert this protection, specially with respect to the eye which is very sensible to optical radiation. Googles must provide enough shielding to specific wavelengths of the laser beam used in the procedure. In this work we present a protocol on how to determine whether a google is adequate to a specific laser emitter. Real values were used in the calculations and must be adapted for each situation.
