Modern treatment techniques such as the Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT) technique has been widely used in clinical practice for different treatment regions and the evaluation of the dosimetric effect due to multileaf positioning errors has been evaluated by some authors. The objective of this work was to evaluate the sensitivity of ArcCHECK in detecting MLC positioning errors in static fields, static arcs and for AAPM TG-119 planning cases using the gamma analysis with the criteria of 3%/3 mm, 3%/2 mm and 2%/2 mm. The results suggested that the ArcCHECK is sensitive to detect systematic and random errors greater than 2 mm, in the cases of the AAPM TG-119 using gamma criteria of 3%/3 mm, 3%/2 mm 2%/2 mm. However, some errors are not detected with the gamma analysis in clinical practice, if the percentage of the points that pass the criteria is greater than the institution's confidence index.
